i think iphis was born to live in a lower east side that no longer exists. iphis had an eye for miracles; she saw everyone's future as clearly as the trains that rushed towards them. she had her sight, I suspect, because she had forsaken something within herself a long time ago. she was once a leader of the thiasus.
